ABLI is delighted to jointly hold a close-door, invite-only forum on July 10 AI development and security in Singapore and China with the Cyber Security Association of China (中国网络空间安全协会) (CSAC) which led a delegation of lawyers, media and business leaders to Singapore during the 2025 Personal Data Protection Week.
The forum started with a welcome address by Mr Yeong Zee Kin, Chief Executive of ABLI’s parent organization Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) and opening remarks by Mr Liang Bo, Deputy Secretary-General of the CSAC. Their presentations were followed by Rajesh Sreenivasan (Head, Technology, Media & Telecommunications, Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP) who outlined the challenges and strategies of AI governance in Singapore.
After the networking break, Dora Hu Jing (Partner, Grandall Law Firm) kicked off the second half of the forum by talking about the impact of AI applications on the legal industry, followed by Wang Lei who shared his view as a university researcher on the policies for the development of AI industry and legal education in intelligent technology. For the Singapore side, Dr Kevin Chng who heads the AI Apprenticeship Programme in AI Singapore provided an overview of the apprenticeship program and Yeong Zee Kin concluded the forum by introducing what SAL has been doing to prepare lawyers for practice in the era of AI.
ABLI has received very positive feedback on the frank and candid sharing by all participants, and looks forward to continuing the collaboration with the CSAC.
