ABLI is delighted to contribute as a media partner for the 24th Annual Conference of the International Insolvency Institute (III) to be held in Singapore in June 2024.
ABLI and III have a fruitful and long-term partnership in their joint restructuring project, the Asian Principles of Business Restructuring project. The project has already produced three major outputs. They are
- Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency in Asia, an 800-page compendium published in April 2020, which examines in detail the corporate restructuring and insolvency regimes in 16 jurisdictions across Asia Pacific, including all ten ASEAN member states and six of its major trading partners: Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Japan and South Korea;
- Guide on the Treatment of Insolvent Micro and Small Enterprises in Asia released in May 2022 which adopts a unique approach of advocating five Key Principles for more immediate adoption by jurisdictions that seek to implement an attractive insolvency framework for MSEs, and six Aspirational Principles that should ideally be adopted over time to provide MSEs with a comprehensive legal and institutional environmentto deal with financial distress; and
- Guide on Conducting an Out-of-court Workout in Asia produced in May 2023 which sets out a model of best practices, in the unique form of both high-level principles and practice tips, for workouts of corporate debtors in Asia.
More details about the III Annual Conference, including the conference agenda, travel information and registration methods, are available on III’s conference page here. ABLI looks forward to welcoming the global insolvency community to Singapore.
