[Webinar] Indonesia Personal Data Protection Law – One Year On
Overview
The Personal Data Protection Law (PDP Law) came into effect in Indonesia on 17 October 2022. After 15 months, what has the reception been to the PDP Law on the ground? Are businesses caught by this law adjusting well so that they would be ready when enforcement commences later in 2024.
The Asian Business Law Institute returns to examine the PDP Law following warm reception to previous sessions held in January 2022 and February 2023.
This time, the webinar is expected to cover, among others, the following:
- A quick refresher of the key obligations under the PDP Law;
- Developments involving the PDP Law during the intervening period, such as the supporting infrastructure (e.g., enforcement authority), court judgments rendered, etc.;
- key takeaways from the (draft) implementing regulations of the PDP Law; and
- Compliance pain points and strategies (such as sectoral regulations, interoperability, etc), and the road ahead for implementation.
The session is also expected to mention general developments relating to the digital economy in Indonesia.
