Meeting with Malaysian Data Protection Commissioner

On 19 October 2017, ABLI’s Dr Clarisse Girot and Prof. Abu Bakar Munir met with Commissioner Khalidah, director general of the Department of Data Protection of Malaysia and her team in her office in Putrajaya. ABLI is honoured that the Commissioner has confirmed the participation of her office in ABLI’s Data Privacy Project.

For the first time, a pan-Asian project offers the possibility for regulators, governments, practitioners, academics and data protection experts to gather under one roof and collectively work on the regulation of international data transfers in Asia. We welcome the increasing participation of ASEAN authorities in this collective effort.
