“ASIAN BUSINESS LAW INSTITUTE (ABLI)
Reference has been made in previous Newsletters to the establishment of the Asian Business Law Institute.
It was established in January 2016 in conjunction with the holding of a conference in Singapore, “Doing Business Across Asia: Legal Convergence in an Asian Century”.
The first project that the ABLI has undertaken relates to the recognition and Enforcement of foreign judgments. A first step in the project is to identify what the existing law is in the respective Asian countries.
The ABLI’s first publication is a compendium of the existing laws on recognition and enforcement of fifteen Asian countries.
The Australian chapter was written by AAL Fellow, Dr Andrew Bell SC of the New South Wales Bar.
The Compendium is freely available on the ABLI’s website at http://abli.asia/BOOKS/Foreign-Judgments-Project.”
