Signaling Willingness to Recognise and Enforce Foreign Judgments

ABLI is delighted to have contributed a short piece to the latest issue of the SICC News of the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC).

The piece, titled Signaling Willingness to Recognise and Enforce Foreign Judgments, is a brief summary of some key points raised during ABLI's webinar A View from the International Bench - Current Topics in Cross-border Dispute Resolution held on June 3.

During session moderated by Deputy Executive Director Mark Fisher, our speakers Dr Michael Hwang S.C. and Justice Anselmo Reyes of the SICC discussed, among others, the potential role the Hague Judgments Convention and bilateral memorandum of guidance signed between courts can play in enhancing the portability of monetary judgments across borders.

We thank the SICC for the opportunity to contribute. This is also a renewed opportunity for us to thank attendees who joined this webinar from all over the world. A recording of this webinar is available for viewing. Please contact the Secretariat if you are interested.
