SICC holding symposium on 11 March 2020
[UPDATE] The SICC Symposium has been re-scheduled in response to the Covid-19 outbreak. The new date is yet to be announced.
The Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC) will be holding a one-day symposium on Wednesday, 11 March 2020 where its judges and other experts will gather to discuss trends and developments in the field of international commercial litigation.
The symposium line-up promises to offer in-depth discussions on the value proposition of international commercial courts, the forthcoming new procedural rules of the SICC, the enforceability of court judgments and the use of commercial courts in infrastructure and cross-border insolvency disputes.
ABLI is delighted to see a "convergence" of ideas as session 4 and session 5 of the day's programme will discuss topics relating to cross-border insolvency and the enforceability of judgments, two of the areas currently pursued by ABLI in its Restructuring Project and Foreign Judgments Project respectively.
Many experts whom ABLI is working with will speak at the symposium, including the Honourable Chief Justice James Allsop of the Federal Court of Australia, Associate Professor Adeline Chong (Project lead for ABLI's Foreign Judgments Project), the Honourable Justice Kannan Ramesh of the High Court of Singapore, the Honourable Justice Anselmo Reyes of the SICC, and Professor Yeo Tiong Min SC (ABLI's academic director).
